What do you do if you are asked to choose from two difficult options…
Option 1: Go ahead with a major operation. You may not survive the operation and even you survive, you may lose a limb. Benefits are minimal and the risks are high.
Option 2: Continue with the current medication. You may have a shorter life span than Option 2, but you will have a comparatively better quality of life.
Logically, you should choose Option 1 (as recommended by the consultant surgeon) but I will definitely choose Option 2.
This is what I see when I read Option 1: “You may survive the operation. You may not lose a limb. There are some benefits and there are some hope.” For me, it is better to die trying rather than being like a sitting duck…waiting for my time of death.
By the way… I am still healthy. But one of loved ones is having a major illness.
